Susan Bratton is a certified sexpert and has been working with folks in their 40s through 90s for many years. She identifies three main ideas that can help those who want to reconnect with their sexuality after the age of 50: creating positive self-talk, exercising physical awareness, and learning how to make sensual pleasure a priority.

When it comes to creating positive self-talk, Susan stresses that it isn’t just about feeling good – it’s also about understanding what makes your body feel good. This includes recognizing needs such as relaxation, stimulation, or connection. It’s an important step in being able to explore your desires without judgment or shame.

The second element is physical awareness: understanding how the body works during sexual activities such as intercourse or masturbation. This can take time to learn but once mastered can greatly improve your experience. Finally, Susan recommends making sensual pleasure a priority – it’s easy for this part of our lives to become undervalued when dealing with the demands of family life or work stressors. But intentionally setting aside time for pleasure can be one of the most rewarding investments you make into your relationship and overall well-being!

In her discussion on the podcast, Bratton offers listeners plenty of valuable advice on how to reengage in their sexuality at any stage of life. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, there are steps that anyone can take towards reclaiming their sexual energy – demonstrating just how ageless intimacy is!
