Donella Chadwick-Kermeen obtained her ADN in 1994 from Iowa Western Community College. She worked in the Omaha Metro area as an RN for over 20 years allowing her to have a great variety of experiences including, but not limited to, intensive care, wound care, intensive cardiac care, and outpatient services in the surgical, GI, and Cath lab areas.
Her passion for nursing and drive to continue her education led her to return for her BSN and MSN degrees to become a Family Nurse Practitioner graduating from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE in 2018. She is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. During her undergraduate studies, she graduated with a Summa Cum Laude distinction.
While attending graduate school, she was able to continue working full time at Bergan Mercy Hospital in the fast-paced surgical services department. While in this position, she assisted with the transition of a hospital merger by becoming a leader and charge nurse of the preoperative/postoperative cardiac cath lab area. Her graduate studies enhanced her passion for nursing and her knowledge to be able to better care for patients.
For the past three years, while working as a nurse practitioner, she has found much enjoyment in working with the geriatric population in the LTC setting. She has also continued her education to be able to better care for her patients in orthopedic joint care and is certified in wound care.
Donelle lives in Council Bluffs, IA. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and her grandchildren. She especially enjoys time traveling with her husband and anything to do with classic cars.
